From the ballet "La Fille Mal Gardée" by Hérold. Arranged for double reed ensemble (6 oboes, 2 bassoons) and wood block. Difficulty: medium.
This is an adaptation of one of my oldest arrangements (for woodwind ensemble). I adapted it for the North Halifax Grammar School Double Reed Ensemble, with which I played briefly while I was teaching there.
The wood block player is vital, and additional to the eight wind players. In the NHGS ensemble, there were three bassoonists, and one of them played the wood block in this.
