When I survey the wondrous cross

Hymn tune, arranged for double reed ensemble (3 oboes, 1 bassoon). Two versions provided: one with the tune in the 1st oboe part, the other in the original key but with the tune in the 3rd oboe part. Difficulty: easy.

I arranged this for the North Halifax Grammar School Double Reed Ensemble, with which I played briefly while I was teaching there. They were asked to play this hymn at a school service, and one of the pupils had arranged it, but that arrangement didn’t really work, so I did this one just in case she didn’t manage to fix it in time.
